People living with Down syndrome are at greater risk of developing early-onset Alzheimer’s Dementia compared to people without Down syndrome. In this podcast, I provide information about why people living with Down syndrome are at greater risk for developing early-onset dementia, how dementia looks like in this population, the use of dementia medications in this population, and some strategies to help slow functional decline and communicate in spite of the dementia.
