Great Perspective

I normally don’t like writing reviews, but have to make an exception here. I really appreciate his perspective on wrk & life. He is open and seems to say what he thinks and feels. Also like his conversations with his Mom. PS: keep up the great work Chuck. You bring a nice rhythm & tone to the podcasts.

Restoring hope with logic and candid interviews

This is a great podcast. Mike has down-to-earth candid interviews with a variety of very interesting and inspiring people. His chats with his mom are delightful! Memorable interviews include Scott Mann, Bill Courtney, James Nestor, Jay Leno, Bill Whittle, and the hilarious and surprisingly intelligent Tom Frank! (My apologies to every memorable guest whose name escapes me right now!) I also really enjoy the “The Way I Heard It” vignettes a la Paul Harvey… My only complaint would be that sometimes, Mike talks a little too much about himself, including talking over a guest who is mid story/answer… but then again it IS Mike’s podcast so 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Holy Crap that’s good

As a leader in my own organization I am always looking for inspiration. Mike’s podcast always hits the mark and it is also nice to see that the trades, (which I am elbow deep in keeping the lineman trade front and center to keep the lights on) continually at the center of discussions. Thanks!

Simply Outstanding!

I absolutely love all of Mike & Chucks interviews but for me the latest with Scott Mann was just I credible on so many levels. I went and watched Last Out on Amazon Prime after the podcast and was again overwhelmed by the raw content and true emotion. My husband served in the Navy for 20 years and myself and our 3 children were the Home Support Team for him for the last 13 years until he retired. His tour ended in 1993 and had its share of tense moments but nothing like what our brave men & women have had to deal with since then! The regular Military Life is not for cowards and being a Green Beret just puts you in a whole different level of reality. After listening to this excellent Man tell his story I was again reminded and encouraged that there Amazing People in our country who are still giving it their all. They and their families are truly Our Hero’s !

The Best

I had never listened to podcasts until I started listening to Mike Rowe a year ago. And since then, I have searched for others, but none are anywhere close to his. He makes me think, makes me laugh and reminds me that I’m not the only crazy person who thinks that the world doesn’t have to revolve around one political party, news station or ideology. Hats off to Mike and crew for being the MVP of the podcast world.

Dr. John Deloney Episode

This is, without a doubt, one of the best podcast episodes I’ve ever heard. There is simply no substitute for human connection, and it was a great reminder to get my face out of my phone and love the people right in front me! So much can can be solved by living life together. I’ll be listening to this one again.

Love Mike!

Funny, very smart, reverent when he needs to be and hilariously irreverent at other times. He puts the listener in the room with him! Loved bringing his friend and producer Sean on the show - excellent addition! He’s a good story teller too.

Long time listener, first time reviewer

Want to drop you a few lines about how I love to listen to your podcasts. I’ve learned things, (some things I didn’t know I needed to know) and have been entertained by you, Chuck, your Mom and special guests. The audiobook from your Mom was a good extra along with the short story here and there. The vo-tech (which they changed the names of all the vo-tech schools around me to ctc career technical center) space that you endorse is so very awesome, having a cosmetology license myself, I thank that school for giving me knowledge/skill. This start gave me the chance to take that little taste and enhance my craft to an occupation that has supported me and my family…..

Thanks for being real and truthful

I was raised in a blue collar family, had I not went into the Air Force I would’ve went to a trade school to be an electrician. I appreciate a show that talks about manhood in a positive way during a time where our young men are being told that manliness isn’t a good thing and you must be offended and afraid of everything. I believe there is a direct correlation to the high suicide rates in males due to the assault on manhood. Keep it up and stay strong in the truth and thank you for all you do for the trades! My favorite podcast!

I am a long-time listener to “The Way I Heard It” and I love listening to every episode. I’ve been around almost since the beginning. I can’t remember when I started listening, but it was during the short-format story-telling era and I have witnessed the metamorphosis of the podcast and have enjoyed every phase. I listen to A LOT of podcasts and this one is by far my favorite because I am always entertained no matter which type of episode or who the guest is. It doesn’t matter. They are all entertaining, and I’m frequently introduced to people and ideas that are new and interesting to me.
