When I was a young girl, I’d stay a lot with my grandparents at their farm. They’d have the radio on, listening to stock and feed prices and farm reviews but eventually a program would come on with the distinguishing voice of a man who told us “the rest of the story.” I listened attentively, even as a child, because I could hear in the man’s voice that he simply wanted to inform, educate, and entertain us with true stories of everyday people. Some historic, some modern, but always real people.
As an adult, I long for those days, simpler times, American pride, and truth.
I have found it in this podcast. Mike Rowe is “the voice” of what I grew up hearing. Truth. Hard work. Honest values.
