History & Factoids about today webpage
19 Well, hi everyone, and welcome to History and Facto. It's about today. I am Jeff and today's the Summer the eighteenth. Now I just have two awesome co hosts today, Paige and Ashland. They're gonna help me talk about love and peace, which fits in perfectly with this time of year, and it'll probably give you some ideas New Year's resolutions and all that kind of stuff make it better than next year. How'd you guys introduce yourselves? Well, we are Paige and Ashland, And although this didn't happen on December eighteenth, on May tenth of nineteen ninety six, I gave birth to Ashland, making us mother and daughter. But not only are we that, we are business partners and co podcasters for our business Loving Night's Peace, which happened to be inspired by a moment on July eighth, two thousand and eight.
05 So yes, born from this July eighth moment of magic, where the message of love and Mad's Peace came to my mom like a lightning bolt from the sky. We have spent years learning how to be the love that creates peace in your life in the world, and now we help women transform the communication, the conflict, the subconscious patterns that shape every relationship in their lives so that they can create healthier, happier and field relationships everywhere. And also not on this day in history, but earlier this year, we had a weight what really cool moment where my mom became an international Impact book award award winning author. So so many fun things. But we love working together and we are also super close personally and have really lived the work that we preach and teach, and we're happy to be here.
50 Well, that is awesome. Thanks for inviting us. Yeah, well, thanks for being here. Love it. Base can't get any more important than that, CanYa. No, but they really can't. All right, we're gonna talk about you all day the show and let all the listeners know how they can get. They do a lot more than just books too. They've got courses and podcasts and we'll get to all that kind of stuff. But first we got to celebrate. Do you guys know what we're celebrating today? Well? I think so? How do the elf? What's your favorite colors for? Howdy elf? What's your favorite colors for? Do? Hoy helf? What's your favorite colors? Do? Today? Is national answer to the telephone like Buddy the Elf day. That's right. Okay. Now, if you remember Buddy the Elf, he was played by Will Ferrell in the movie Elf.
35 So today we're all supposed to add a little elf behavior into our day. You know, the hustle and bustle of the holidays, people can get a little surley this time of year. So everyone, you know, just kind of smile in public and make people giggle. Be silly today. You know, you can wear an ugly sweater or a holiday socks or a Santa hat. Now when you answer the phone, you're supposed to state your name, say you're an elf, and then ask the caller what their favorite color is. Ye know, just have a fun, silly day. Do you guys like that movie? I love it? Yeah, I just just watched it the other week while wrapping presents. Yeah, that's it. One of those that's the first time you see you're kind of like what and then it comes just a Christmas classic. It's great to add a little levity to this time of year because I do think even though it's all something we look forward to, we all get so caught up in the hustle and bustle that adding that, you know, just that lightheartedness to this time of season. This season is so important.
25 It definitely is. That's for sure. All right, let's see what's going on entertainment on Dissumber of the eighteenth. Let's go back to your two thousand and nine. The number one album was I Dreamed a Dream by Susan Boyle, jay Z and Alicia Keys add the number one song with Empire State of Mind Lady adding the Pellam. They had the number one country song with needs You Now He's. One Joes Loo Control and jes.
19 The number one book was Us for Undertow by Sue Grafton. Top movie it was Avatar, a paraplegic marine he has sent to the moon of Pandora. Now he's to Orange. Should he follow his orders as a soldier or protect his new home? It starts Sam Worthington, Zoe Solana and Sigourney Weaver. It was nineteen sixty six How the Green Stole Christmas? Made his TV debut and on every year since, and that had two full length movies from it. He has Green fans. I got another favorite. I wouldn't say Grinch is my favorite, but it's still cute. See you guys going to the new Avatar one that's just come out like this week. I think we will. Avatar is actually my mom's one of her all time favorite movies. The first Avatar, the second one so. But the first Avatar I absolutely love.
02 You're not a little nervous about the third one? Then I am a little nervous. Okay, So like a lightning bolt. You said that you guys came up with loveing Night's Piece, which is pretty cool. So what was your first what'd you first do? What was your first thing that it's like, okay, now I need to do. Did you start writing? Did you start speaking? What happened? Well, first of all, I needed to figure out what the heck I was supposed to do with this message love ig Night's Piece that wouldn't leave me alone, Like I just couldn't get it out of my mind. And so after a while, I finally decided that what I needed to do was figure out how to live those three words. That was step one. Yeah, that's important. Mm hm, practicewitch beach.
42 That's exactly right. So it's been many years, it's been probably fifteen sixteen years of peeling back all the layers of myself that really had kept me from embodying love, you know, unconditional love for myself, being able to love and accept others even when they were challenging me, you know, to the tenth degree. It's been a really wonderful ride to be able to learn how to use love as an action in my life, as a tool in my everyday life. And Ashland too, she has really embodied this message as well. So, Ashland, could you see a big change in your mom when it came to her? An excellent question. I think that, as with most growth, it doesn't happen all at once, It's one subtle change at a time. But I absolutely can reflect and say that the person she is today leaps and bounds healthier, happier, more vibrant than the woman she was sixteen years ago.
41 And I think that is because she has put Loving Nate's pieces her roadmap and her compass of how to you know, live out her full potential, her highest vibration expression of herself. Yeah, but probably not in that exact second, right, because you hear the message and then you kind of got to figure out how do I put this into motion? And the trial air of that healing and that growth and that and that. Learning, and you probably just by seeing her going through that, that's it just kind of ribbed off on you, right, and you just kind of I want to feel like she feels. Yeah. I mean, I think when it's your mom, she's obviously like imparting her wisdom along the way. And I also think that the universe, god, whatever you want to call it, puts you on your journey. And I think we were kind of walking parallel paths of some of the own some of our own ways that led us each experience the growth that came through following that message.
32 So you were probably what a teenager at that time when she first came across it. I think I was like a kid, like probably like, let's see how old am I now, because it was more than fifteen years ago, So yeah, I guess at early teens. I was probably early teens. So that's cool. You didn't like rebel, like, oh mom, you're still full of it or anything. You just accepted it. That's pretty cool. I'm not going to lie to you. There was one time where I remember we were driving to the golf course Maint my dad and brother for dinner, and she was telling me that she read this thing about like, oh, picture your livers smiling and just like every organ for it's like most brilliant health, Like just picture it smiling. And I remember being just such a crab apple like teenager and being like that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, like and then but like as always, you know, like a little bit later, I was like, Okay, maybe I'll try that though, So I think that I did have moments where I was like resisting, but I still had a lot of respect for my mom and the things that she was learning, so I did always kind of refer back, and at this point there's no resistance.
36 We're both very open, open minded, and I think that if anybody is to take something away from this, it's being open minded. Lean into the naviies can completely transform your world, gone and wild. Dreams right pages, You've got a really strong relationship and clothes. Did you get lucky with Aslan or was it just showing her that the peace of love that got you through outlet Well? Well, I do. One of my things that I believe is that a child actually picks their parents, Their soul picks the parents. Is one of the things that I believe and I do believe that Ashland picked me and her dad, But I also want to say I got very, very lucky. She is truly the best daughter any mother could ever hope for. And the really amazing thing about Ashland is that she just lives from this place that is so heart driven. It's so natural to her, and honestly that wasn't and sometimes I still even struggle with that of really living from that heart open space.
42 And one thing that's kind of thinking about a lot of people, when you ask them about what is love, they don't really even know what love is. Do you have to deal with that? Yeah? Yeah, you know if you if you decide to read Loving Night's piece Our Next Evolution, I really go in depth about that and for all intensive purposes. The most simple way that I would use to describe that to you is love creates goodness. It's more than a feeling. It is a feeling, but it's also an action. And when you treat yourself and you treat others with love, what you're doing is you are instilling this idea of goodness in that other person and in that relationship.
26 Yeah, I definitely believe love is an action too. I mean, it's you there's so many like country songs about how I hate you be leave me alone, but I still love you, but just get away from me and that kind of stuff, you know, But I'll still make your coffee or breakfast. I mean, love isn't It's got some hormones and stuff when you start out, but it ends up being an action. Yeah, it really does. And that's the thing I want to You know, you don't have to You don't have to feel love for every single person on this plant. You don't have to feel love for the people that drive you crazy. But that doesn't mean you can't treat them with love. You can't treat them with love as in action. And the world will sure to be nice if everybody did. When they Yeah, sure would, It's sure would. My mom always told me that the hardest people to love are the ones that actually need love the most.
15 That's true. All right, Let's see what happened on this simmer of the eighteenth Well, Happy Birthday, New Jersey. Let's day. In seventeen eighty seven, New Jersey became the third state. Now it's named after the Isle of Jersey and the English Channel capital is Trenton's highest point is high point at one thousand and three feet. Now the size of New Jersey. It is only the forty seventh biggest state, but its population is eleventh most people. So you put those two together, New Jersey is the most densely populated state we have.
03 Now. The New Jersey state bird is the Eastern goldfinch. Fish is the brook trout. Mammal is the horse tree, Northern Red Oak state. Food and fruit are they same in the Northern High Bush Brewwery. Some people born in New Jersey Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, Meryl Street, Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, Shaquill O'Neill, Joe Peshi, I st John ban Jovi, some of the people born in the Golden State. Now we all live there in Colorado. So we're pretty good that something happened pretty good happened in eighteen eighty eight, didn't it? It sure did. In southwest Colorado, rancher Richard weather Hill and his brother in law were out looking for some of their cattle and they found the ancient Anastazi ruins that make up Masaverty National Park. Maysaverty National Park has over four thousand archaeological sites and over six hundred with Cliff Dwellings. They think the site was deserted in the year thirteen hundred. It is actually a place that we visited.
03 I've only been there one time, but when Ashland was little, I mean probably like maybe eight or nine, we took our first trip to maysa Verti and I have to say it was an absolutely magical experience. Colorado has so many incredible places, but Maysaverti was one that I would go back to. It was just fascinating, and the energy there was really good. Yeah. And what's really surprisingly because I won't been there like once too, but you go there and you think, oh, there's cliff Dwellings, but then you look and all down that entire canyon there's I mean, they run from miles. It's surprising. Yeah. Yeah, it was just incredible. It really was one of it. It's like a quintessential memory for me and my Colorado travels. And I've lived in Colorado for thirty five years.
47 Not going to find that in Iowa, are you? No? No, I'm not going to find that in Iowa. But we do have Iowa to speak about a little bit later in this conversation. Stay tuned in. Nineteen ninety eight and Patty Gaston de Luba at the first automobile speed record and he got his car up to thirty nine whole miles per hour. I mean, when you have the need for speed, it clearly cannot be contained. Okay, I believe you pronounced that right. Yeah, I'm impressed. Your French is way better than my English. Ashlin oe wee. In fact, we actually went to France to film a documentary for Loving Mate's Piece at one point, but ended up dissolving that project. But lots of fun, lots of fun creative projects. I feel like in France, always innovating, always sent in records, doing cool things.
40 They have been around for quite a while. Well, we'll move to nineteen thirty six in San Francisco, where they threw a huge party to welcome Sulan from China, who was the first giant panda to ever leave China, which is kind of crazy to think and Suelan means very cute, but sadly they died tears life and they did an autopsy on her and they found out she was actually a male panda, but have no idea why he died. Interestingly enough, panda symbolized peace, bounced gentleness, and inner strength, as well as luck, friendship, and cultural diplomacy, which really you know, ties into the Loving Knights piece five. You guys need a little pandas or logo. We have it, but hey, never too late.
22 They sure are cute, yeah they are. And they're not aggressive. And you want to know why they're not aggressive. They're not aggressive because they eat bamboo as their main source of food, so they're always like conserving their energy. They're like so docile and they nap so much because they eat all that bamboo. But that's like their their food source, which doesn't give you a lot of energy. Turns out, maybe we should find that's a fun fact. Yeah, maybe we should need the kids vamboo at lunch at school that afternoon. That's hilarious. Well. In twenty twelve, in Quebec, Canada, Canada is one of my favorite places, the Great Maple Syrup Heist went down. Police arrested seventeen men for stealing three thousand tons of maple syrup from a storage facility that's worth over twenty million Canadian dollars. The syrup was stored in barrels the thieves would siphon out the syrup and replace it with water.
11 Then they got lazy and just took the syrup and left the barrels empty. When an inspector went to check on the inventory, as he climbed up on the barrels, he fell on his butt, thinking the barrel weighed six hundred pounds. It didn't. It was empty, and the seventeen men were caught and arrested. They would truck syrup to Vermont and sell it in small batches, so they didn't raise any suspicion. I don't know about you, guys, but I always have some maple syrup if I can find it, Canadian maple syrup and my fridge. And honestly, I'm really fortunate. I have a lot of Canadian friends. And in an earlier life I was in the oil business and we did a ton of business in and out of Canada. But all right, hang on to your hat for this pun, ladies and gentlemen. I think the Canadians are some of the sweetest people you'll ever meet.
57 Well, they are kind of French. They are, but they're sweet like maple syrup. I know, I just you know, what really makes me funny laugh about that story. I mean, it happens in every industry, but I mean, granted I'm not a kroak, thankfully, but I can't imagine sitting around and thinking, Okay, what are we going to steal? Hey, there's all that maple syrup, let's go take that. You think that that would pop into your mind? Yeah, well you did say it was worth over twenty million Canadian dollars, so yeah, that's it. May not have been gold, but it was like liquid gold. Okay. Who came up with bathtub chats? I have to say that was my idea. We both love to take individually a beautiful, just relaxing, candlelight bath and I also think that when you're in that like vibe, you so your deepest introspection. So with our podcast, Loving Maid's Peace Bathtub Chats, we actually have literally recorded almost all of our episodes are ones even somewhere. We've interviewed others in our own individual bathtubs, like you know, nothing on tour, we've had our swimsuits on, we've filmed it and everything. But we just really liked this concept of like taking a dip into the unknown, right lighting the candle of introspection. Just that whole experience that comes with taking a bath. And so we've had people that we've interviewed on our podcast also fill their tubs, throw their swimsuits on and join the pod, which has been a
28 really cool fun thing basically what it symbolizes. And I want to do something different. I wanted to do something that kind of caught atension from a marketing perspective. Well, I think it's an awesome concept. I mean, you have that right brain left brain thing going on, that kind of stuff, And so do you like the candles and everything for the show? For the show, I don't think. No, we don't really because just really pick up on camera the candles that we do in milk bath, the flowers, and we are transitioning our pod here to a new era of bathtub chats and future, so we have to tune into stay tuned. But you know, maybe a symbolic candle. We're always lighting the inner candle, that's for sure. Well, that's cool. So what kind of workshops what I can't speak nice you use your friends. What kind of workshops do you guys have?
14 Well, we're getting ready in the coming year. We've got two different workshops scheduled with two different women's groups, and both will be around the relationship that you have with yourself. And you'll hear us say that your most important relationship is yourself. Is the relationship you have with yourself. And I know that might really sound like a novel concept to some people, but truly, that relationship with yourself is the basis for all your other relationships. If you don't have a healthy relationship with yourself, then that is shown in all of your you know, all the relationships in your life. It can be reflected in those relationships.
57 We also offer oh sorry, go ahead, oh go ahea. We have three main workshops that we typically offer, which is one around conflict resolution. We call it the Art of Loving conflict, where you can learn the six conflict styles that you know. When you understand them, they can transform the tension into as we say, art full of connection. And one of the cool pieces of that is you can do it without requiring another person's willingness to change or participate in the change. And then we offer another workshop around relationship healing, which we really dive into what we call love six actions, which is a framework to heal and deepen your relationship with yourself and others like my mom was just talking about that part of self that really is so important, but really learning from those past and present relationship wounds that are keeping you from moving forward and then via these six steps, stepping free.
44 And then our third main workshop topic is typically around the subconscious mind. So transcending those subconscious limitations is widely discussed in today's day and age. Right, we're only about ninety to ninety five percent or i'm sorry, five percent, five to ten percent conscious, at about ninety to ninety five percent subconscious. So it's kind of like you're we're a little computers, right are our ones and zeros? Our little operating systems are really what's creating a lot of the output. So we get in there and help you with one of those ones and zeros, So like letting go of negative thought patterns or limiting self beliefs, and we specifically emphasize in our workshops around all things love and relationships. I think you guys are dead on though. If you can't love yourself, you can't love somebody else.
27 That's for sure, you cannot. I'm just going to interject here one of the reasons we got into the conflict styles and really promoting. That is, you know, AshEL and I have a very close relationship, but don't think we don't fight. And we had very different dials that we both brought to in conflict. And when you bring a certain style in conflict, basically you have learned how to stay safe at some point in your life in conflict. So these are the patterns that you brought into that moment, and her pasts were very different from my patterns. In fact, they couldn't have been more polarizing to each other. So for each of us to be able to really dive in and learn our conflict styles, meaning learn what were the go to patterns that we went to when we needed to feel safe, really helped us in our relationship, in our work relationship, especially because we could take that understanding into any time conflict was started brewing.
27 So, in conflict, when they come to you and your advice, is there one that stand out or is it general? Does it go from spouse to kids, to co workers to their parents? Is there anyone that people have the most conflicts with? Well, I'm of the go ahead, Ashlyn, you go ahead. I'm of the opinion that usually in your closest relationships is where you have the most conflict, So. It can be any of those that you listed, just depending on the person who that closest relationship is. I also think it's a misguided thought. We often think that to be closest and when you have to be like them, And the reality is some of the people that you love the most probably are vastly different than you, and so it's like how to love each other with these differences.
11 And it's like the five love languages, right, I don't know if you've heard of those, but where you can understand, like, oh, like the reason that my mom or my partner, you know, my brother is not feeling loved is because I'm trying to give him gifts and he doesn't actually give a crapic about gifts. What he really needs a words of affirmation. Once you unlock that, the relationship gets better. And so for us with the conflict styles especially, it's just like that, it's like, oh, I need to communicate with my mom in this way so she feels seen, heard and loved, and that way our relationship can be stronger. But that happens in every single relationship. To your point, friend's family, significant others. It no one's free from the conflict and the importance of those styles.
56 And if you've mastered that, come come on this point, come on one of our podcasts and let us know how you've officially gotten to the point where you completely mastered that. I don't think that's going to happen on this plane. I think that's something for the next level, all right, so we see it was born on December the eighteenth actress singer, pinup girl Betty Grable. She was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, in nineteen sixteen. Now, during the nineteen thirties and forties, she made over forty movies. Now, those movies they made over one hundred million dollars, which would be two point three billion dollars today. But you have to think about when she was going there, the movie's cost twenty five cents to go to, not this ten and eleven dollar stuff. Now, during World War Two, her pin up poster of her wearing a bathing suit, it was a number one selling poster in the entire war. Now, she was such a sex symbol. Her legs are insured back then for a million books. Now she had she married her second husband for twenty two years and They had two daughters that ended in divorce. Betty. She died from cancer in nineteen seventy three, fifty six years old.
01 Said Sax said sex truck truy truck. No one is sure how but guitarists for the Rolling Stones Keith Richards is eighty two. He was born in Dartford, England, in nineteen forty three. He and Mick Jagger form The Rolling Stones in nineteen sixty two. They have co written most of their songs and The Stones have sold over two hundred and forty million records. Man, that is a lot of records. Keith gets to sing one song every concert. He has his choice between Happy Before You Make Me Run or Connection. Keith has released three sol solo albums.
46 He has three daughters from a girlfriend. Then he married in nineteen eighty three and they have two daughters. Movie maker Steven Spielberg is seventy nine today. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in nineteen forty six, and he has been nominated for twenty four Oscars, of which he has won three. Over his last and you know seventy nine years here on Earth, he has won one Oscar for Best Picture and one for Best Director. For Schindler's List and Best Director of Saving Private Ryans. So those are his three oscars. He's one out of the twenty four. The first movie he directed was Sugarland Express, which starred Goldie Hawn and his first wife was actress Amy Irving.
27 They had a son, and then he married Kate Capshaw in nineteen ninety five and together they have five kids. And another interesting factoid, Stephen was diagnosed with delexia, but dyslexia when he was sixty years old, which is so just interesting and indicative of how far we've come with identifying different learning disabilities and things that people have dealt with throughout life. I will tell you personally, I know almost no directors in Hollywood. I'm not the best at pop culture, but I certainly have known Steven Spielberg's name. Actor rayle Otis was born in Newark, New Jersey, in nineteen fifty four. He first got known in the movie Something Wild. Then he played shoeless Joe Jackson in Field of Dreams. He got famous for the movie Goodfellas. He was in over seventy movies. He married once for seven years and had a daughter. Ray died in his sleep in twenty twenty two at sixty seven years old. You know Ray, I told you, Oh, go.
20 Ahead, No, I was going to say that Ray, he was actually the number one pick for that TV show The Sopranos. He turned it down, and that's when they came up with was the other guy? Uh? Well, I was going to say that. This is where Iowa was coming into the picture here, because Field of Dreams was filmed in Dryersville, Iowa, and I have been there. I've seen the field. I will say it is not probably something you need to put on your bucket list unless you are just a huge Field of Dreams fan. Not that impressive but kind of cool if you happen to be in the neighborhood. Well it's just a field. Yeah. Hey, why don't you brag about yourself? So let's talk about your award winning book. What award was that?
03 I won an award called an International Impact Book Award for the book and it's Loving Knight's Piece, Our Next Evolution. And the category that I won the award of the award inn was self help Emotional Resilience. Well that's cool. Now this guy's won some award. Let's se if you can identify him any guesses, No, yep.
50 In the movie Johnny Swaye, I don't know how you got that one. That was before you were. Born, but she had a hint. Now, Braddy's sixty two. He won in Shawne, Oklahoma. In nineteen sixty three. He grew up in Springfield, Missouri. Now he won the Best Picture Oscar for twelve Years a slave, he was a producer. He won an acting Oscar for Once upon a Time in Hollywood, nominated for Oscars for Our Moneyball, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in twelve Monkeys. Now his best acting job. I think, I don't know if you guys seen it. It was in nineteen ninety three. Is a movie called California with the California Skilled with a k that he's a serial killer and his girlfriend is Jennifer Lewis. Anyway, I tend to not watch movies about serial killers because it really messes with my love and peace.
33 That is true. But this was before the Lightning Struck though. Yeah, it was before the Lightning Struck. Was still no Brad. He married Jennifer Aniston for five years, and then he married Angela Angeline and Joli for six They had six kids. Three were biological and three were adopted bread where gee would that helping egg and bring don't need to change your line. I'm going out my boots. That brings us to country singer Randy Hauser, who is fifty today born in Lake, Mississippi in nineteen seventy five.
19 So Randy starved as a songwriter and he is the one who wrote Trace Atkinson, Honky Tonk, Badonka Donk. Eventually though, they let Randy sing in two thousand and eight, and he has hits such as boots on, How Country Feels, Running Out of Moonlight, and good Night Kiss. Randy has a son from his first wife and has been married to his second wife since twenty sixteen, of which they have two sons together, and he will be heading out to do some show starry February thirteenth. Actress Katie Holmes was born in Toledo, Ohio, in nineteen seventy eight, and she is forty seven today. Do the math. Her first big hit on TV was Dawson's Creek. Some of her movies have been Phone Booth, Batman, Begas and Jack and Jill and first Daughter. She married the very famous Tom Cruise for six years and they had a daughter.
09 Girl and as us I'm. A girl girl, what a j. I'm sanging you Jim Crew. The one and only Christina Aguilera, which this one blows my mind because she is forty five today, born on Staten Island, New York in nineteen eighty. It just seems so young in my mind to me still, probably because I was young when she was young. Christina has a four octave voice range, which apparently that is quite uncommon, and that is why she is called the voice of a generation, while this generation, those who grew up in the eighties had Pat Benattar, who had a four point five range. So Christina started out on the new Mickey Mouse Law But when she was thirteen, and she has now sold over one hundred million records including Ganina Bottle, What a Girl Wants, What We Just Listened To, Lee, Marmalade, Beautiful, and more. She also speaks and sings in English and Spanish, obviously extending her reach and her amazing talent. And as an actress, she started a share in the movie Burlesque.
23 So Christina was married for six years and they had a son, and now she has a daughter with her fiance who she has been engaged to since twenty fourteen. I don't know why we didn't leave this for you, Ashley. It's fun like you really well, I just caugh. It's just always aveun. I'm the bad side, make you mose sad size, makes your girl friend lad side. I'm good good. H twenty four year old Billie Eilish. She was born in Los Angeles in two thousand and one. She believes her first thing Go Ocean Eyes back in twenty fifteen, and in twenty nineteen that song I played Bad Guys.
04 It was the number one selling song in the world, the Ela. She went an Academy Award. Yeah, it was her first. Her song No Time to Die from the James Bond movie. And she's not dating. She didn't really talk about her personal life. She's tired of people speculating and stuff, so she's not taking out who she's dating, what she's dating, or anything like that. She has done all right now. But if people go to your website, they're going to run into a blog. That page. I think you write it correct, and it's got fun things like fat habits to keep you from creating peace and all kinds of different book. What inspired what does this come to your mind that day or do you think about. Honestly, there's a lot of things I don't write about that I could write about. It just has to do with how much time one has in the day. But yeah, this stuff just comes to my mind. It you know, I want, from the deepest part of my being, I really want people to be happy. I don't want them to struggle, you know. I want people to genuinely live a life that makes them happy, that is peaceful, that they really, you know, feel that love for themselves. And so yeah, when I'm sitting down to write, all these different messages come to mind. I mean, it's my goal to just put positivity out into the world, put love out into the world.
13 So do you guys kind of like tag team the ideas for like like the blogs and the podcasts and what you're going to change your courses on or does one of you take the lead and then the other one. Yeah, it kind of inspires you and then you guys work together. I'd say for the most part, we work together across the board. I Mean, the blogs are primarily written by my mom at this point, but we have both co authored much of the courses. And we are always working together on the podcast, bringing our different ideas to the table. So for the most part, I would say this is honestly a very equitable team effort. It is, and Ashlan has she is the idea person. Man. If you need a creative idea, especially if you need to creative idea for something fun, Ashland is your gal.
53 And that's one thing too. I mean it kind of sounds not melancholling. It just sounds inner peace. You know when you talk about what you know, you just want to loving night's peace, you know, it just sounds wholesome and all that kinds of But you can ignite love with peace and have fun too. Heck, yeah, what's the point if we are having fun? Honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way. Yeah, I think that there's definitely something to change kind of the perception around that it's not just about meditating your way to peace. You know, we're not sitting here on a mountaintop, you know, just like the Dalai Lama, but we are really bringing actionable tools to normal, everyday people to create a happier, healthier experience.
34 Well, I know, you want to inspire and educate as many people as possible. You have any big goals coming up for this next year? That's an billiard question. Yeah, you're catching us at the end of the year where we're going to be gathering the last week in December, putting all of that together. You know, I think for me personally, I'd like to have more public speaking engagements in the coming year, and and that'll be something that Ashlin and I will do together. And you know, she can speak individually and I can speak individually as well. I don't know, ash do you have any big goals for next year that you want to share right now? Like you said, I think we're still on some of the ideation phase. But yeah, I mean I have a definitely from a business perspective, a certain goal with how many people reach our conflict court course reaches. And I also think that getting on stage of like a ted X would be incredible.
29 Are you both natural speakers? My mom's telling very hard on her speaking. I think we both are. We have a natural ability to get up and publicly speak. But I think there's always room for practice and improvement. I you know, I'm still practicing and improving in everything I do. I also think when when you're in your zone of genius, like it can just flow. Yeah. I was just done. And the reason I was laughing about that, lots of people ask me for tips and all that kind of stuff for public speaking and everything. And I came up with the other one and one the other day for this girl, and she was just starting and I never had so many hits of you know, smiley faces and agrees on any comment I've ever made.
14 And she was, actually, no, I don't worry about the you know that whole Wives tale about you know, picture of the audience in your underwear and that kind of thing, because some of the people are going to be good looking, so you don't even think about that. I go, if you want to bring everybody down to size and make everybody seem nobody seem imposing, just removing the mirror that every single person that audience has to poop. So that's that'll bring them all right down to your level. Twitterious. Yeah, I hadn't thought of that one. All right, you're right, there is a book about that is really. It's called Everybody Poops for Children. Well that's where I wants to lift it it, all right, So on the Today's Show, notes We're gonna have how to get to all your stuff so we can find you so they can just look on today's notes.
