Excuse me, and normally actually I co hosted with my mom, but she's been on hiatus for a little bit, which is me and yeah for a little true crime podcast. But it's very very near and dear to my heart.

Now today I kind of think of Tridad has more of a trial run for what's coming up, because I think cabbage is assumed with Saint Patrick's Day. So Courtney, how do you find your stories?

2:16 So? I use a couple of different things to help me find different cases to work on. I use like a newspaper archives. I use a couple of different like blog websites, so people like writers write about different crimes. And then the biggest thing that I try and do is really work directly with families. So it's kind of a constant call out in my episodes and social media, like, if you have the case you want me to talk about, please reach out to me. You know, my email is always open. And I've gotten some really interesting cases that way.

2:57 And I've had the honor of working with family and different experts actually, which is really cool. See, you do a lot of they're pretty much cold cases that were kind of ruled wrong, right, they were closed with the wrong facts and stuff. I have done quite a few of those. I try and do a lot of cases that people don't hear about. Often. You know, it's we're not going to do like John Binet because everyone and their mother has covered John Binney and it's terrible as that story is, there's other cases that need to be talked about. So I try and focus on cases that either are not solved, have been solved but no one knows about them, or cases that have been ruled as something other than what they probably are.

3:39 I've done quite a few cases where they were ruled as suicide or mysterious sets and they are probably not based on the evidence. Well that's very interesting, all right, Let's see what's going on in entertainment. On February seventeenth, It's about Their nineteen ninety six number one album was Waiting to Exhale the movie soundtrack Right. Kerrie and Boys to Man had the number one song with one Sweet Days. Joe Diffy had the number one country song with Bigger than the Beatles.

They stole a nuclear bomb. Now pilot now Park Ranger are going to try and stop them from doing anything with it. Sorry. John Travolta, Christian Slater, and Samantha Methis. 5:08 The cases that you talk about are they back East? Are they nationwide or worldwide? They are worldwide. I cover a lot of cases nationwide because the information is more readily available, but I've covered quite a few cases across the world. I've covered a couple in Japan. I've covered a couple in like Australia, England. I've done a huge usecase in Russia that took months to work on because I had to translate everything, so I try and cover global cases.

5:49 Well, that's really cool. You didn't make putin mad, did you? Hopefully? Hopefully not? All right, Let's see what happened on February the seventeenth, in the year eighteen hundred, in the United States presidential election. It was between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. What ended up in a tie in the electoral College. So what they had to do is they went to the House of Representatives. So bad constitution. The House of Representatives voted to see the president. One was Thomas Jefferson, who they named for the third president. But if it makes you feeling better, Jefferson he did win the popular vote, so it wasn't that bad, not like what probably would happen today. In eighteen sixty four, the Confederate submarine the HL Hunley it sank the Union ship the Hoosatonic. Now it was off of Charleston, South Carolina. First time in world history that a successful submarine attack actually happened, well kind of see, it did sink the Hoosatonic, you know, and killed valescrew.

6:41 But the Hungley it also sunk from the explosion, so yeah, he killed its old crew too. So I guess what they're calling success. Now. If you've used it, I'm sure you go to like concerts or anything. Oh yeah, so you've mad through those awesome porta potties, right. Oh yeah, I've had that misfortune. You know, you go inside and you turn the lock the door and it reads in use somebody. Actually I didn't vent that, and it was actually today over in London, England, this guy named Arthur Ashwell came up with it that his it said vacant or engaged. Very useful. Edward Stone, Massachusetts had joined the French Foreign Legion to fight in World War One, and he was killed today in France in nineteen fifteen. He was the first American to guy fighting in World War One, two years before the US actually entered the fight. In nineteen thirty four, the first high school driver's side classes were offered at the high school in State College, Pennsylvania. It's kind of cool. I didn't know that. And in nineteen thirty six Macintosh, South Dakota set their state record at negative fifty eight degrees.

7:58 Oh, my god, feels like that here today. Also in nineteen thirty six, the first superhero debuted in a comic strip, this Phantom. He was kit Walker. He wore a mask and a purple outfit, and he had no superpowers. The Pantom relied on his strength, intelligence, and his skill was two handguns that don't work. Nineteen fifty nine, the first weather satellite was launched into orbit, and his vanguard too. Now it was only twenty inches in diameter and his battery only lasted nineteen days. But they're still up there. Yeah, it's just orbiting around. They figured it's going to orbit around for next two to three hundred years. Twenty twenty two, in South Saudi Arabia, that was the first time in Saudi Arabia's history they actually posted a job opening that women could apply for. Yeah, they wanted thirty women to drive their trains. Twenty eight thousand women applied. So, Courtney, do any of the stories that you do kind of haunt you afterwards that you kind of have trouble shaken?

8:54 Oh? Yeah, I've worked on a few that have burned into my brain and I will probably never forget them. I did one about a girl that was torturing kilt in Japan. Her name was Juco Peruda. I still think about her daily. There are a couple of cases that I've worked directly with victims' families that I will probably never forget. And then the ones that I didn't think we're going to be anything crazy that ended up being so crazy to research, and there were so many layers and twists, oddly enough like in real life, that I'll never forget. I discovered the execution of Johnny Frank Garrett, and he was executed for a crime he most definitely did not commit at seventeen years old, and I will probably never forget his case either.

9:52 And that is a dark field, man, and it kind of hard. To shake it is. It's a very dark field. I have to take frequent like mental health breaks because it it gets a little dark in this. Now I've got a guy and his name is Judy. He's my guy and I love truly. He's not good looking. Heaven knows that I wold bad. He's crazy close. She got married and moved to Missouri to live on a farm. She had a daughter, then she divorced. At twenty one. Sodie went back to music and she was a back of singer for Loretta Lynn, Frank Avalon, Matt Davies, Sabian and others. She also toured the oldie circuit with her daughter. Actress Serenee Russo is seventy one and she was born in Bourbon, California today in nineteen sixty four.

Best known for playing Al on the sitcom Home Improvement Now. He holst did the game show Family Food for three years after that. Yeah, he was the one who was there before Steve Hardy Harvey took over. Him and Tim Allen.

Grew up in Texas. He first hit playing Richie Allens in the movie LaBamba. Then he was in Standing Deliver, the Young Guns, movies, Courage Underfire. On TV, he's best known for Longmire. She started out modeling as a teenager, and she first got known for acting in Starship Troopers Wild, saying she was the bond girl Christmas Jones in the world is not enough, just says her best movie was Dropped Dead Gorgeous. She has done reality TV. She even has her own reality TV show coming out on Bravo March fourth, Deidneys Richard's and Her Wild Things. She married Charlie Sheen for four years. They had two daughters, and after that very interesting public divorce, she adopted a baby girl. Denise married her second husband in twenty eighteen.

Now they sold over seventy five million records in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Yeah, he was really good. Right now, I'm kind of kind of promote him a little bit because I actually did show with him once. He does a lot of like training and stuff for keynote speaking and stuff. Of course, he was put Tommy in Third Rock from the Sun and he got married in twenty fourteen and they have two sons and one daughter.

Some of his songs are Thinking out Loud, with You, Perfect and Bad Habits. He also released the song how would You Feel? And that was my wedding song. Ed married in twenty nineteen and they have two daughters.

Her name is Janna, and she asked me if I could do an episode on her sister, Crystal McCrory Jones, who died in twenty twenty three. Please rule bit of the suicide. Based on all of the evidence that I have read looked at, it's a lot. I don't believe that that is the case. So she asked me to cover it to bring awareness. That should be coming out next Wednesday if all goes well. So that's a really really big one that saying people should listen to you just kind of bring awareness. She really wants people to focus on that because she's still fighting for justice.
