20 Hey, hello everyone, I am Jeff and welcome to History and Factor. It is about today. Today is May the seventh. Maybe haven't seen something, maybe you've changed your mind, Maybe me my. Little more time? I got. Yeah, I got nothing today. All the national days pretty much suck. So let's just go on to entertainment and see what happened on May seventh. In two thousand and nine, then when album was a hand in Montana movie soundtrack Black Eyed Peas, that the No More song with boom boom pal. I like that boom boom pal. Damn chickens jagging my style. They try to cover my swagger. I'm on that next.

03 Now I'm sold three thousand and eight, you sold two thousand and late. I got that boom boom boom that future boom boom boom. Let me get in out boom boom gotta get get boom boom boom, gotta get get boom boom boom. Rodney Atkins add the number one country song with It's America. It's a high schoolroom, It's a strange state song. It's a rat in a several name. It's a Man on the Moon by Flast June Kids selling the leg in city, saying Farns and so boom arms one nation under It's America.

45 David about Dacy had the number one book. What First Family Star Trek was the number one movie? Now James T. Kirk, he lives up to his father's legacy with spot keeping him in line. Starts Chris Braden and Zachary Quinto. So what happened in the world I made this? Seventeen eighteen. The city of New Orleans was founded by a French explorer named John Baptist la Moity Bevinhil. He named it for Francis, Duke of Orleans eighteen sixty seven and Swedish chemists out for Noble. He padded it dynamite. Now later in life he felt so guilty about it. Yeah. He founded the Nobel Prizes. Nineteen fifteen. Out the southern coast of Ireland, the passengers ship, the RMS Lusitania, was sunk by a German submarine. Of the one thousand, nine hundred and fifty nine people on board, one thousand, one hundred ninety eight died. One hundred and twenty eight were Americans now Germany. They said the British were transporting using the passengership to transport weapons of war. Brenton vhamently denied, No, we were not America. They used it for a reason to get into the fight. Then after the four turned out, Germany was right. The ship was carrying one hundred and seventy three tons of war munitions. That's why I had exploded and sank so quickly. Nineteen twenty eighth United Kingdom, they lowered their aids for women to vote from thirty down from thirty to twenty one. Nineteen thirty four, a fisherman off the island of Palawan in Philippines found the largest pearl of all time, seventy five. It was two point two feet long. Now, the fisherman he really didn't know what he had, so he kept it under his bed for ten years. He just believed that God in real good luck. But he ended up pathing to move, so he gave it to his aunt. Now it is on display at the city hall on Palawan. It's estimated the pearl is probably worth around a hundred million bucks.

16 But like I said, that pearl weighs seventy five pounds. Second biggest pearl ever fourteen pounds. Nineteen forty five, German General Alfred Jodel. He had great to an unconditional surrender of all German army yet to go into effect at midnight, so the World War Two in Europe was officially over. Nineteen fifty three, Lewis Maron and his wife they were fishing off the coast of Chile. They got the world's largest swordfish with one thore and eighty two pounds. The record still stands Coke cot Co cot Co Coat show. This shiver day, we gonna pause. He left this shiver day. We gonna sit because he left this shivers day. And you know we don't give birthday.

57 All right, Let's check out who's born on the seventh. The three bees of classical music are Beethoven, Bach, and Brahms. Johannes Brahms. He was born in Hamburg, Germany, in eighteen thirty three. N that's to us regular people. He isn't as well known as Beethoven or Bach, but apparently he's just as good. He composed symphonies orchestras, really known for his conducting, and I guess he was a great pianist. Now, if you really want to sound smart and say that you believe that Brahms symphony number three was his best work, followed by his piano concerto number one and is on Candle or cradle, that's what we actually played.

46 Now. He never did marry, but after he died they found out that he was in love with Clara Schumann. Now she was the wife of his very bestest friend in the entire world, Robert Schumann, the composer. Now they found a whole bunch of poems and songs that he had written about her. No one knows if anything happened between him or nine. Eighteen ninety seven and sixty three years old, he died from cancer of the liver. Composer Peter Tchaikowski.

27 He was born in Vadkinks, Russia, in eighteen forty. Now he actually wrote some stuff. We know, Swan Lake, the Nutcracker eighteen twelve overture. You know, any need to put cans in his their symphony, It has to be pretty cool. Now, he mostly did orchestras, but he did a little over pretty much everything. He married in eighteen seventy seven, but that was just high the fact that he was gay. In eighteen ninety three, when he was fifty three years old, he died. They think it might have been because of cholera, but they think he might have committed suicide too. Actor Gary Cooper. He was born in Helena, Montana, in nineteen oh one. He is considered one of the greatest actors of all time. Started out in movies in nineteen twenty five, acting until he died in nineteen sixty one. During that time, he had a span of twenty three straight years where he's one of the Hollywood's top burning actors. Nominate for four Oscars, won one for Sergeant York. Gary married nineteen thirty three and they had one daughter.

13 Now. When word got out that Gary was dying from Pott State cancer, he received messages of encouragement from President John F. Kennedy, Queen Elizabeth the Second, and Pope John the twenty third. Gary was sixty when he died in sixty one. Actor Darren McGavin. He was born in Spoke in Washington in nineteen twenty two. Started off having some success on Broadway, but I think most of us know him best for playing the dad on the movie at Christmas Girl. Now, he was actually in over one hundred movies and TV shows. Some of his other movies were Airport seventy seven, Rod Deal deady eight Billy Madison. He had four children from his second wife. He was three times divorced. Now he died from heart disease in two thousand and six at eighty three years old. So if you do the math, he was sixty one years old when he played Ralphie's dad. Melinda Dillon who played the moms, he was forty four.

56 With those. Around here where we jod teaser lot because we got him Mama Scott. Welcome back, Sir Robert Head. Yes. He was best known for playing a sweat hawk Juan Epstein on the TV show Welcome Back Godter mad appearance isn't over thirty TV shows. He did a lot of theater. He was born in Perth and Boy, New Jersey, in nineteen fifty one. Grew up and lived close to his cousin John bon Jovi. Robert had two children from his third wife. He died in twenty twelve at sixty years old from a heart attack. Lay on missus, same night, Frank great craft Don come to male, same Frank to break af Don come.

53 Out. That was Eagle Eye Cherry. Yeah, that was the name he was born with. He was born in Stockholm, Sweden. In nineteen sixty eight fifty eight. Today, his half sister is singer Nina Cherry Iglaye. He came to the United States to go to high school. He was in the High School of the Performing Arts in New York City. He was in the same class with Jennifer Aniston and Chad Bono. He started out wanting to be an actor. He had some small parts in some movies, but when his dad died in nineteen ninety five, he moved back to Sweden and concentrated on music. He is a lot bigger in Europe than he was over here in the States. All he had was that hit Saved Tonight. Then he had a couple of smaller ones like Falling in Love Again and are You Still Having Fun? He still actually performed over in Europe. He hadn't married yet. Actor breck and Meyer. He's fifty. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in nineteen seventy four. His first movie was Freddy's Dead The Final Nightmare. First actually kind of got known though for Clueless and then road Trip. Did a couple of Garfield movies, Ghost of Girlfriends, passed on TV Boy. He voiced Joseph Gribble for ten years on King of the Hill.

48 He's been on Robot Chickens since two thousand and five. He's also a writer and producer. He's even won an Emmy for it. He was Franklin and Franklin and bash Breca and he married for once for thirteen years and has two daughters from it. Okay. Our quote of the day it comes from country singer Eddie Rabbit. In the shows Washing All My Way, I Wake up too many. Love, Yeah, I love. Love. Eddie died today in nineteen ninety eight and only fifty six years old. Eddie said, we all have to dance with our devils, but I lead well. Thank you all for joining us today. We sure appreciate you being here.
