Wave home, and I'm a brand new man. Oh, yeah. Today is National TV Dinner Day. Woo-hoo! Yeah, they are convenient. Now, they've come a long way since 1953. See, Swansons, they had bought way too many turkeys for Thanksgiving holiday. So now they had to figure out how to try and sell all those extra turkeys. So they invented the TV dinner. Now, TV dinners, they were popular as soon as they came out. They're just so easy. 1986, they became easier. Yeah, the first microwave TV dinners were getting on sale. Yeah, they're not called TV dinners anymore. Yeah, they're called frozen meals. That concept is still the same.

I guess somebody had to be first, right? Over in London, a taxi driver named George Smith. He was the first person arrested for drunk driving. The 25-year-old was arrested after he drove his taxi into a building. Now, he told the truth. He said he had been drinking some beer, pled guilty. He was fined 25 shillings. That'd be about $ 17 back then. But he really didn't have a choice. How could he deny it? His taxi was stuck on the side of a building. Now, George, he wasn't a bad guy, though. I mean, his taxi was electric, so at least he cared about the environment. Now, it won't be officially dedicated until October 31st, but it was today in 1913 that the Lincoln Highway opened up.

4:26 It was the first paved highway in the United States that went coast to coast. It started in Times Square in New York City and ended in Lincoln Park in San Francisco. 3,142 miles. No, it was nothing like the interstate system. Nope, it was only two lanes, and it meandered all over the place. 1945 in Fruita, Colorado. A farmer, he went out to cut off the head of his chicken for dinner. Well, after he decapitated the chicken, it ran around like they do. So the farmer left. When he came back, the chicken was still alive. So he waited and waited, and he figured out the chicken had survived his decapitation. So the farmer named the chicken Magic Mike. Now, somehow, the way he had the angle on the axe and everything, he was able to cut it just right where it left the brain stem but took off the whole head. Now, you could actually see down his throat. So with an eyedropper, he was able to feed and give it some water. Yeah, through the throat. Yeah, right down there with no head. Now, he took Magic Mike on tour.

5:19 That's right. People all over the country, they wanted to pay to see that headless chicken. He lived for 18 months without his head. Yeah, then he choked. Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, shawty, it's your birthday. We're going to party like it's your birthday. We're going to sip a card like it's your birthday. And you know we don't give up because it's your birthday. Hooker was born on September the 10th. Action movie star, Rin Tin Tin. He was born near Flaherty, France in 1918. During World War I, an American soldier, Lee Duncan, he was scouting for an area the United States might be able to use for air force bases. Then he came across this small town in France that is just Germany.

5:59 He just bombed the hell out of it. The only building left standing was a kennel. So he looked inside, and there was a female German shepherd with a litter of puppies that she had just had. The puppy's eyes were still closed, and she was nursing them. Duncan, he decided he was going to rescue them dogs, so he took them back behind American lines. And once the puppies were weaned, he gave the mom to an officer. Three of the puppies, they went to different soldiers, and he kept the boy, Rin Tin Tin, and the girl in the net. Now, after the war, he came back and settled in Los Angeles. 1922, he thought, you know what, Ren Tintin would be a pretty good movie dog. So he got him a small part in a movie. Then Hollywood fell in love with that dog. Ren Tintin starred in 27 movies. 1926, he was a top film performer. Ren, he died at 13 years old in 1930. So they flew his body back to France. Yeah, they buried him in a pet cemetery outside of Paris. Other German shepherds did continue to be Ren Tintin, though. See, how do you get the name?

6:50 French children. They would make good luck charm dolls for American soldiers during World War I. Yeah, they called them Rin Tin Tin, but one word. So Duncan, he made it Rin Tin Tin. Three words. Jose Feliciano. He's 81. He was born in Lars, Puerto Rico in 1945. Now he was born blind. When he was five years old, his family moved to Spanish Harlem in New York City. Now he taught himself how to play the accordion at seven years old. Then he taught himself how to play the guitar at nine.

7:39 Started singing in coffee houses at 17. Yeah, then he released his first album when he was 20. Now he's released 54 albums. Yeah, most of them are in Spanish, but some of them are English. Now his biggest hit is both Spanish and English. Feliz Navidad means happy Christmas. Jose, he still performs some. He's married to a second wife. They got married in 1982 and they have two sons and one daughter. The ink is black, the page is white. Together we learn to read and write. A child is black, a child is white. The whole world looks upon us. That was Danny Hutton singing for the band Three Dog Night.

8:22 He's 84. Danny, he was born in Bunker, Ireland in 1942. Grew up in Los Angeles. Now, Danny is a solo singer. He did a couple songs that charted basically in the 1960s, and then got like over 70 or a thing like that. So then in 1968, he helped form Three Dog Night. Now, they had three lead singers. They had Danny, then they had Corey Wells, and they had Chuck Negron. Now, honestly, Corey and Chuck, they sang all their biggest hits. Danny, he did sing their songs Black and White, Celebrate, Liar, One Man Band, and a couple others. Now, Chuck, he left the band in 1985. Corey, he was there until 2015 when he died. So basically, if you go see Three Dog Night, they're still on tour. They'll be on tour until the end of November. So if you go see them, you'll see Danny. He still sings, and there's a whole bunch of people who are playing for him. Yeah, they weren't even born when Three Dog Night was formed.

9:08 That might be kind of fun. He has two sons. Actress Amy Irving, 73. She's born in Palo Alto, California. She starred on Broadway. Then her first movie that she was in was Carrie. Then she was nominated for an Oscar for Yentl. Then she was in Mickey and Maude, The Rage, Carrie 2, Traffic. Then she married Steven Spielberg for four years and they had a son. Now the judge gave her $ 100 million for that divorce. Then she married another guy and they had a son. She didn't get a dime from that guy. Then she married her third husband in 2007. Actor Ryan Phillippe. He's 52. He was born in Newcastle, Delaware. First got known on the daytime soap opera One Life to Live. Then in the late 90s, he hit pretty big in movies. I Know What You Did Last Summer, Cruel Intentions, Crash, Flags of Our Fathers. He was married to actress Reese Witherspoon for eight years, and they had a son and a daughter.
