Now, box wine, it started out only with cheap wine because of the cheap packaging. But box wine, it's come a long way. Now it's considered not only legit, but it's very popular with wine lovers.

She was nine months old. Now, unofficially, she'd actually been queen since she was six days old. Now, the first 24 years of her reign, it went really pretty good. But then it fell apart pretty hard, if you know anything about Scottish history. 1776, their Congress. They officially named us the United States of America. We were no longer the United Colonies of America.

Spanish explorer Hernan Contes, he named California in the early 1500s. He named it for the top-selling book back in Spain at the time. It was all about this beautiful island paradise that was full of gold and precious stones. Now California's capital, Sacramento. Highest point is Mount Whitney at 14,505 feet.

Now, there are way too many people who are born in California to even start listening. So to make it easy, just remember that basically any person who's really kind of weird and off, you know, yeah, they were probably born in California. Kind of sums up the Golden State then. Well, at least along the coast. Inside they get a little more, yeah. 1861, the Confederate Army, they commissioned a nurse. Her name was Sally Tompkins. They made her an army officer the whole time. Yep, she was the only woman who was ever an officer in the Confederate Army. A couple days ago, I told you about that French pilot who did the first loop-de-loop. Yeah, that's basically a barrel roll. Today in 1903, a Russian pilot, Peter Nesterov. Yeah, he was the first person to fly a loop. Well, when he landed his plane, he was arrested and put into jail for 10 years. Yeah, they got him for risking government property. That's kind of funny. 1947, Grace Hopper. She was a U.S. naval officer and a computer expert. She was able to diagnose and fix the

5:18 first ever computer bug. See, what she did is she took out some tweezers and she removed a moth that had gotten into an electric relay inside the computer. Then she taped it to her logbook. Yeah, you can actually see it. Yeah, it's on display at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. But that is why the computer glitch is called a bug. 1957, United States President Eisenhower, he signed the Civil Rights Act of 1957. Now, it was the first civil rights bill that had been passed since Reconstruction after the Civil War. Now, it meant to show that the federal government supported racial equality. Pretty much all the Republican bill, though, the Democrats, they didn't support it and even tried to filibuster it. 1972 in Kentucky. They found out that their mammoth caves and their flint caves, they're actually connected. Makes it the largest cave system in the world. 420 miles. Way to go, Kentucky.

6:07 All right. Who was born on September the 9th? Author Leo Tolstoy. He was born in Russia in 1928. He is regarded as one of the greatest authors of all time. Well, let's let the literary snobs think that. But instead, don't go reading that really long and really boring book. See, I'll tell you all about it. All you need to know about War and Peace is that it takes place when Napoleon invaded Russia in 1812. And then this chick, Anna Kurniva, yeah, she has an affair with a Russian officer and they have to flee to Italy.

Yep, they'll think you paid attention in college. Tolstoy, he was married and had 13 kids. He died from pneumonia in 1910, 82 years old. Harlan Sanders is best known as Colonel Sanders. He was born in Henryville, Indiana in 1890. Now, Colonel is not a military rank. Nope, he got it from the governor of Kentucky as an award for civilian service. Colonel Sanders sounds cool, though. Now, it took him a long time to come up with 11 secret herbs and spices. But see, what really set his chicken apart is that he would cook in a pressure cooker. Yeah, it normally took 35 minutes in order to fry a chicken. Yeah, you could do a little under half that for his true fast food. Now, the first Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise restaurant opened up in 1952, Salt Lake City, Utah. Now, that original building was destroyed in 2004, but they built the KFC right on the exact same spot. Before that, he would basically just give his 11 herbs and spices and then the people would use it to cook their own chicken. They paid him like five cents a chicken. The Colonel, he was married and he died from leukemia in 1980 at 90 years old.

8:00 After Cliff Robertson, he was born in San Diego in 1923. In the movie PT-109, it's all about John F. Kennedy's heroics in the Pacific during World War II. Kennedy handpicked Robertson to play him. Cliff, he did win an Oscar for the movie Charlie. Then he played Uncle Ben in the first three Spider-Man movies. Most of his movies were pretty much war flicks. He had three daughters from his first wife. He had a daughter from his second wife. Cliff died of natural causes in 2011 at 88 years old.

Otis, he was born in Dawson, Georgia in 1941. He quit school at 15 years old to help support his family. He was in Little Richard's backup band. He entered talent shows. He sang with any band who would pay him. Finally, he was able to release his first album in 1964. Some Otis' biggest hits are Try a Little Tenderness, These Arms Are Mine, I've been loving you too long, Mr. Pitiful. He married only 19 years old. Him and his wife had four children. Then in 1967, Otis was going to do a concert at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. His plane crashed in bad weather outside of Madison. Yeah, it went into a leak. He was 26 years old. The lead singer and organist for Iron Butterfly was Doug Engle. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1945. He helped form Iron Butterfly in 1970. Gata De Vida, that was pretty much their biggest hit. Now, Doug, when he wrote that song, he said he didn't mean for it to be 17 minutes long. But it is. Well, except for the radio version. Now, they also had the hit Soul Experience, Easy Rider, In the Times of Our Lives. Broke up in 1971. After

10:18 they broke up, Doug had to go back to painting houses. Did that for seven years. Got back into music. Ended up retiring from music in 1999. Doug, he just died last year. 78 years old. Actor Hugh Grant is 66. He was born in Hammersmith, England in 1960. Now, he was well-known over in Britain. He finally hit in the United States in the movie Four Weddings and a Funeral. Then Nine Months, the Bridget Jones movie. He's about a boy. Now, he really got famous when he got caught with a hooker while he was dating Elizabeth Hurley. But he manned up. He was the dude, man. He took ownership of it. Yeah, he didn't shrink it, shrug it off or nothing. You know what? His career was bigger after that than before the scandal. Just shows that if you take responsibility for your actions, yeah, good things happen. Hugh, he had a daughter from a fling, and him and that girl, they got back together, and then had a boy. Then Hugh married another woman, and they have three kids.
